Backup Acronis True Image

With Acronis True Image, creating a full image backup on an external hard drive is as easy as two clicks. Once the drive is connected and Acronis True Image is running, you click Add backup. The entire computer is the default backup source, so you simply need to assign the external drive as the Backup destination and then click Back up now. Acronis True Image 2020 is the latest installment in Acronis' long-standing backup product series. It is a commercial backup program, a trial version is provided on the Acronis website that interested users may download and run to test it before a buying decision is made.

The backup task points to a non-existent partition as backup destination

Acronis Backup Software

  1. Using Acronis True Image, you run a backup task;
  2. The task fails with the following error code:

    and message:
    Cannot find the partition selected for the backup
    Cannot find source partition

The partition specified in the task as backup source does not exist or is not connected to the computer.

Alternatively, the issue can occur if you substituted the disk that was set to be backed up with a cloned disk (e.g. you have set the product to back up disk D:, then you cloned disk D: and put it in the system instead of the original one).

You can either delete the task and recreate it. Or you can edit the existing task and point it to a new valid location:

Hi every one

Recover Acronis True Image Backup Login

I found a very annoying issue with backup in general (and in my case acronis backup) and dropbox.

I configured my dropbox so that all the files are kept online and none on my local drive.

During backup the files are read by acronis and automatically downloaded to my local drive. As a result the backup takes a lot of time and my drive is filled up. To anyone reading this : exclude your cloud drive from the backup if you want the files only online!

Acronis True Image 2020 Backup Comments

ATI is intended for backing up primarily local files and if you are using a Cloud based service such as Dropbox with no local files, then the behaviour seen (files being downloaded in order to be included) is as expected.

Please note: this does not work for OneDrive if using Files on Demand due to the use of reparse points for the cloud based files since Microsoft changed the method to this.
